What can we do to reduce global warming?

Date: 2022-08-29
What can we do to reduce global warming?

Since 2022, high temperature weather has occurred in Asia and Europe, and almost all of them have exceeded 40 ℃. For example, Britain directly issued the highest level red high temperature warning, and the country entered a state of emergency. The temperature of death valley in California, the United States has even reached 54.4 ℃, the high temperature attack in Spain has reached 40.5 ℃, and the temperature of coastal towns in Australia has exceeded the highest temperature record in the southern hemisphere 60 years ago with a high temperature of 50.7 ℃. The temperature of Sudan, which has a vast territory, has been as high as 40 ℃ as early as April, and the temperature in July is as high as 50 ℃. There is no doubt that global warming is a growing threat to human survival.

Global warming concerns everyone and requires the concerted efforts of all mankind to improve it. What we can do to reduce global warming?

1. Reduce the use of fuel vehicles and choose green travel.

2. Pay attention to turning off the light. Use energy-efficient bulbs. The energy department of the United States estimates that the use of energy-efficient light bulbs instead of traditional light bulbs alone can avoid the release of 400 million tons of carbon dioxide.

3. When buying washing machines, televisions or other electrical appliances, choose reliable low-energy and energy-saving products.

4. Reducing the recycling of materials by means of recycling can reduce the amount of new raw materials produced, thus reducing the carbon dioxide emissions. For example, the recycling and reuse of organic materials such as paper and cardboard can avoid biogas (a gas that can cause greenhouse effect, most of which is methane) released from the landfill. According to statistics, recycling one ton of waste paper can produce 800 kg of recycled paper, which can cut down 17 trees, save more than half of paper materials and reduce water pollution. Therefore, saving paper is to protect the forest and the environment.

5. When shopping, bring your own shopping bags or reuse plastic bags for shopping, because the raw materials of plastic mainly come from non renewable coal, oil, natural gas and other mineral energy. Saving plastic bags means saving the earth's energy.

6. Use less or no disposable products. Disposable products bring short-term convenience to people, but bring disaster to the ecological environment. They have accelerated the depletion of the earth's resources, and the large amount of garbage produced has caused environmental pollution.
